Lenovo’s executive confirmed that Motorola’s phone will feature fingerprint scanner this year. Chen Xudong, SVP Lenovo Group and President confirmed this while talking to a Chinese media. He issued this statement while asking why Motorola missed this important feature in the phone launched last year.

Motorola launched Moto X Style and Moto X Play phones which could come with fingerprint sensor. But company didn’t care about this specific feature and focused on offering consumer centric features. He also confirmed that Motorola phones will also come with slight tweak in design to offer better experience. Lenovo and Motorola will merge their user interface to bring a new UI. But this step is expected to be taken in 2017.

Xudong also said that Motorola (Now Moto By Lenovo) handsets will now target only high-end segment while the Lenovo’s Vibe range will be used for budget segment. If we trust on this, we can confirm the end of ‘Moto E’ phone. Existence of Moto G is also in trouble now because Lenovo’s Vibe series is doing well in this segment. Lenovo is already doing good job in this segment and competing with its own company is not good for business.

So, Moto X and its variants will only be the primary focus of Motorola starting 2016. Lenovo has already kicked off its 2016 with awesome Lenovo K4 Note. We are still waiting for its availability but phone has already created lots of buzz in market.
