After several leaks, finally Pepsi P1s smartphone has been officially launched in China. This phone comes with good hardware specifications including a fingerprint sensor. It is now available in China through crowdfunding campaign on jd.com.
Pepsi is just licensing the branding of this phone and manufacturing partner is Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. Standard version of the phone is Pepsi P1 and the China Unicom version with FDD-LTE support is P1s. It is not clear when this phone will be released in other markets.
Pepsi P1s features a 5.5 inch full HD 2.5D Curved Screen display and runs on dido OS based on Android Lollipop. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450 MP4 GPU and 2 GB RAM. Internal storage of the phone is 16 GB and second SIM slot can act as microSD card slot.
It features a 13 megapixels rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor located at back side below the rear camera.
This phone also comes with a protective cover, USB cable and a charge. It will be available in Blue, Gold and Silver colors.
As the phone is available via crowdfunding campaign, there are different pricing for different customers depending on how early you signup. Early birds could get it for 499 yuan ($78) and now that offer is no more now. You can grab it for 699 yuan ( US$ 110 approx.) which is for next 1000 units. Later, it will sold for 1299 yuan. The company aims to reach the goal of 3,000,000 Yuan by December 3rd.
