Lenovo Vibe P1Yesterday, Lenovo launched its battery focused smartphone Lenovo Vibe P1 in India with aggressive pricing. This full metal phone with fingerprint sensor and other high-end specs is priced at just Rs. 15990. Fingerprint sensor is now a new trend in Indian smartphone market. With the launch of Coolpad Note 3, now we will see more mid-range phones to come with finger print sensor. With Lenovo Vibe P1, Lenovo has tried to target business users by offering fingerprint security, 5000mAh high-capacity battery, attractive metal build and good design.  This phone looks good in terms of design and offers high-end specs. Lets check this phone in detail.

Design

Even if this phone looks bulky with 5.5 inch display, but it managed to size at the manageable with one hand. Dimensions of the phone are 152.9 x 75.6 x 4.6-9.9mm. Here, 4.6 mm thickness at edges and 9.9 mm thickness of the phone. Metal chasing of this phone looks good. Though the polished back is bit slippery in palm, it is still comfortable.

It has a physical home button which holds the fingerprint sensor. Top-back section is removable to hold the SIM cards and microSD card.

It has power button and and volume rocker keys at the right side of the device. At the left side, it has a dedicated button to switch on power saver mode to extend the battery life. I am surprised to see this button. This phone already comes with huge 5000 mAh battery, still there is a ultra power saving mode.

Display

It has 5.5-inch full HD IPS-LCD display. The display screen of the device is bright and offers wide viewing angles. It looks good and even watching full HD videos is a good experience on this device.

Processor, RAM and memory

Lenovo Vibe P1 is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. Lenovo has paired this processor with 2 GB of RAM. We couldn’t expect more from a device of this price-range. Snapdragon 615 has some kind of heating issue but we couldn’t face this kind of thing with few minutes of hands-on.

Lenovo Vibe P1 comes with 32 GB internal storage which is also expandable up to 128GB with microSD card slot. This phone also supports USB On-The-Go. So, you cannot complain anything i this section. You have sufficient processing power with plenty of storage.

Software

It runs on Android 5.1.1 with Vibe UI at the top of Android. Vibe UI offers good user experience. It lacks app drawer so, all the apps can be found on home screen. You can also arrange apps in folders.

Camera

Lenovo Vibe P1 comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with various camera features including AF Phase Detection, Continuos Shooting, Face detection, Geo tagging, HDR, ISO control, Touch to focus and few others. Company could add OIS, but still no complaints. It is awesome. You also have a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfie. Both camera seems to perform good.

Connectivity and Battery

This phone offers 4G LTE with support to Indian 4G bands. Other connectivity features are 3G, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi direct and GPS with a-GPS.

It has 5000mAh battery with a dedicated button to switch on ultra-power saving mode. Phone claims to offer 44 hours of talk time and 600 hours of stand by time. This is the biggest advantage of this phone.
