Facebook makes it easier to send GIF and files from desktop chat

Facebook makes it easier to send GIF and files from desktop chat

Facebook has quietly added options to send GIF and attachments in desktop chat. Now, it has added dedicated icons at the below side of chat windows. One for GIF and other for file attachment.

You can see the screenshot above. Clicking on GIF will open the collection of GIFs. You can select any GIF animation to add in chat.

Similarly clicking on attachment icon will open file explorer to select file and send to the person. You could already send files in chat but option was not directly in chat window. You had to click on gear icon to open options and select files.

See the below screenshot to see how it looked earlier before these new options. There was only options for photo attachment, stickers and like.

These options are not yet available to all users. If you cannot see it in your chat window, you will have to wait for few more days to get new options.
