Micromax’s sub-brand Yu Televentures has launched its first portable wireless printer Yupix in India. It will be available for Rs. 6999 via Amazon.in starting from September 7.
Yu Yupix has image quality score of 175 and can print a photo captured by your phone onto a 2.1×3.4 inch paper in just 60 seconds. Printer has resolution of 291 dpi.
Size of the printer is 2.99×6.01×0.99 inches and weight of the printer is 273grams. It is packed with a 750 mAh battery. It has cartridge which does not require a cleaning roll. It can print up to 10 continuous shots.
It has an companion app for both Android and iOS. App is now available to download from play store or app store. After downloading the app, users can connect the printer with phone through wifi or NFC. This app also allows users to edit photos before printing.
It is really an interesting move by company but I am not sure if this printer will get enough customers. Most of the work is now being done via soft copies. People are interested in saving soft copies to share on Facebook and Instagram. But this move will surely bring attention of other companies in this segment.
