Instagram Hits 400 Million Users Milestone

Facebook owned photo sharing service Instagram has crossed 400 million active users mark. This is a good news for company which has recently opened its advertising platform globally. Instagram confirmed 300 million 9 months ago.

Instagram has more than 75% users who live outside of United States. Company also confirmed that half of the last 100 million users are from Europe and Asia. Brazil, Japan and Indonesia are the countries which contributed most in terms of users in past few months.

Company confirmed the numbers but didn’t confirm the breakdown by mobile platforms. We were also interested to know how much it has grown on Android as compared to iOS.

With these number of users, Instagram is now bigger than Twitter. With the help of Facebook, Instagram now has formula to attract more users.
