Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime with 5.5-inch display, Helio X10 SoC announced

Today at an event in China, Xiaomi announced two smartphones Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime. Redmi Note 2 priced at RMB 799 (for 3G variant), at RMB 899 (for 4G variant) and Redmi Note 2 Prime priced at RMB 999. These smartphones will be available in 5 colors including white, black, pink, brown, and light blue.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5 inch full HD display. It is powered by 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU and runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop. It features a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens. It also has a 5 megapixel front camera. It has 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
