Delhi Traffic Police has launched a new SMS alert service to help Delhi people while travelling in the city. In this service, you will get city’s traffic situation like congestion points, rallies, political and religious processions and diversion updates via SMS on your phone.
To subscribe this traffic SMS alert service, send a SMS to 9811452220. After this, you will start getting information about traffic diversions, traffic jams due to vehicle breakdowns, accidents, water logging or road blocks. To unsubscribe send the SMS to same number and you will no longer receive SMS.
This service is being launched in association with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Ministry has provided bulk SMS service free of cost to the Delhi Police for this service but only for a period of one year.
