Yahoo launches video messenger app Livetext for iOS

Yahoo LivetextYahoo has launched a video messaging app Livetext for iOS. This app is only available in Hong-Kong. This app includes traditional text messaging and video without any audio.  This app went live earlier this month on July 11. It is available in more than 20 languages.

Yahoo’s new Livetext app aims to offer more natural messaging in which you can feel your person near you. Your text messages will appear on the silent video you sent.

This app is only for one-to-one conversation. So, there is no option for group conversations. It users Livetext ID or your address book contacts to connect with friends. You can also change the profile picture.

Livetext is compatible with devices running on iOS 8.0 or higher. If you are in hongkong, you can enjoy this messaging app for free. People of other countries will have to wait for global launch.

Yahoo has no presence in mobile messaging and it has been trying to bring something for past few years. This new app can be a big thing for company to show its presence in mobile messaging. Concept of the app is interesting which can attract young people to use the app and give it a try.
