Whatsapp pushed few updates in past 24 hours to bring few new features. There were 5 iterative updates to bring fetures one-by-one with bug fixing. Now, whatsapp offers options like mark as unread, low data settings, mute, custom contact and group notifications.

Now when you open the contact’s or group’s detail page, you will see an option for custom notification option below media section. Here, you will also see Mute option to mute the conversation forĀ 8 hours, 1 week, or 1 year,. You can customize few things likeĀ tone, vibration length, light, popup notification, call ringtone and vibration.

Another important feature is “Mark as unread” option. Long press on any conversation and then mark the conversation unread. But it will not affect the read status of messages inside the conversation. It will only mark that conversation green just for visual reminder. You can also remark that conversation to read with “Mark as read” option.

All these options are not available via Google Play. You need to download Whatsapp from official website to get this update. Alternatively wait for few hours or 1-2 days to get update direct from play store.
