Google has expanded its real-time traffic information feature for 12 mores cities in India. Google also added all national highways and expressways in India. Now, Google Maps shows real-time traffic information for 34 cities in India.

Newly added cities are Kolkata, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Indore, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, Kochi, Madurai and Bhopal. Google also added all national highways and expressways in India.

With the help of this feature, now Indian can get the traffic information on Google maps. It will help you while going somewhere in the journey. You can decide the road based on traffic location.

“We are constantly working on making Google Maps a more comprehensive, daily tool for Indians and we hope that this new real-time traffic information for 12 cities and all national highways will help drivers across the country find the best routes to their destinations with the fewest delays,” Suren Ruhela, director, program management at Google said.

For using real-time traffic info, you have to turn on traffic layer on mobile or desktop. After this you will able to see all the traffic information with different colors on route maps. These colors indicate the traffic condition like green color means no traffic while red alerts about heavy traffic on the way. Same way, orange color indicates medium amount of traffic on the way.

If you are on your way, then with the navigation details maps also show you the estimate time of your arrival and also guide you with the lowest traffic route information.
