Today at an event in China, Meizu launched its new MX5 smartphone. It comes with fingerprint recognition technology for payments and other high-end hardware specifications. It is priced at 1799 CYN, 1999 CYN and 2399 for the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64GB variants. Company didn’t talk about global rollout.
Meizu MX5 features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.It has full metal body with magnesium alloy frame around edges. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with 3 GB RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. It runs on Android 5.) lollipop with Flyme OS at top. It features a 20.7 megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash, Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor and 4K video recording. It also features a 5 megapixel front camera. It comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB variants.
It offers 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. It is packed with 3150 mAh battery with quick charging via the company’s mCharge technology. Company claims that it can be charged up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
It also has mTouch 2.0 fingerprint recognition technology at physical home button for payments using mPay payment service.
