Volvo On Call appVolvo has also jumped into wearable tech with its new On call app, but its entry is really exciting. Volvo now allows you to control your Volvo cars by using your smartwatch. Doesn’t it feel like a tech for high tech spy we have been watching in movies for years? But now it is for common people owning a Volvo car.

Volvo On Call app is now available for Apple Watch and Android wear. This app will allow Volvo car owners to control settings, lock or unlock car, locate the location, check fuel status and utilise many other Volvo services from their smartwatch. There are various other things which you do with this app. So, Volvo car owners will not feel like they own something high tech like James bond.

“Volvo On Call is an app that allows you to literally take control over everyday elements in your Volvo. You can set heater timings for those cold and frosty mornings or cool down your car in hot weather, check your fuel level and mileage, or time to next service. It even helps you to locate your car in a crowded parking garage,” explains David Holecek, Director Connected Products and Services at Volvo Cars.

With automakers entry in mobile apps and wearable section, cars have now become smart cars. Future technology is going to be very awesome.

Volvo has also published a video demonstrating how this app works in smartwatch.
