baiduAt China Cloud Computing conference, Chinese web giant Baidu has confirmed that it will launch its first driverless car in the second half of 2015. Previously, company confirmed that they were working on this project but didn’t reveal any more information. Now, we know that company will announce driverless cars in coming months. So, we can guess that company has finished most of the complexities of the project and it now ready to compete with Google’s driverless cars.

For this driverless car, Baidu will work with unnamed car company. Previously, it teamed with up with BMW to develop semi-autonomous car technology. At that time, Baidu’s Yu Kai said that he was not agree with Google’s view of completely autonomous cards.

Artificial Intelligence is now an important field of research. Most of the companies are now trying to build smart products which can offer better service by using its own intelligence. Baidu is also growing in this research.

This announcement came just after Google announced to bring Google’s self-driving cars finally on roads. Google has also confirmed that it will make the data public about the driving and accidents of its cars. Current data confirms that there is lot to be done to make this project perfect.

Apple, and Uber are also reportedly working on driverless cars. This is the reason why most of these companies are now trying to own a perfect mapping service for navigation. This is why Baidu also made a bid on Here maps along with Uber and other German auto makers.
