Today, Google India launched two new entry level Chromebook laptops in India for Rs. 12999 and a Chromebook desktop for enterprise dubbed as “Chromebox for meetings”. First Chromebook is from XOLO which will be available via Snapdeal in next few days. Second Chromebook is from Nexian, Subsidiary of Spice Mobiles, dubbed as Nexian Air Chromebook which is now available from Amazon.in.
The Xolo Chromebook features 11.6-inch display with 200 nit brightness. Screen resolution was not confirmed. It is powered by a Rockchip 3288 processor with ARM Mali 760 quad-core GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB eMMC storage. This chromebook also comes with HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution webcam for recording videos and video calls. Connectivity features include two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, SD card reader, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Xolo also claims that its Chromebook can run for up to 10 hours on a single charge. It measures 290x205x17.9mm dimensions and weighs 1.15 kgs.
The Nexian Air Chromebook also offers similar specifications. It is powered by 1.8 Ghz ( (Cortex A-17)) quad core Rockchip 3288 processor. It has a 11.6 inch display with screen resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It also has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB eMMC storage. Internal storage is also expandable up to 64 GB. It measures 292x209x22.6 mm and weighs 1.25 kgs. It is packed with 4200mAh Li-po battery.
Both Chromebook laptops come with 100GB of free Google Drive storage.
Chromebox for meetings is priced at Rs. 90,000. It is the desktop variant of Chromebook laptops. It comes with powerful hard ware specifications. It is powered by a core-i7 processor. It also comes with a combined microphone and speaker unit, and a remote control.
