facebook chat sidebar Facebook has started rolling out its new chat sidebar for smaller screens. This new chatside bar appears when your resize the window or use Facebook in the devices having low resolution display. Facebook  started testing this new chat sidebar for smaller screen back in February this year, but it was only available small number of users. Now it is available to all users.

See the snapshot at the side of the screen to see how this new chatside bar looks.

When you use Facebook on small screen, sidebar will become small showing only faces of persons. Green dot will appear to show if the person is online. I am sure you will be able to recognise your friends by profile pic. So, there is no need to display the name and it will save space in side screen.

Hovering this sidebar will slideout the original chat sidebar showing the names of the friends along with their profile pic.

CHeck your Facebook by resizing the size of browser to see if you also received this. Share if you received this Facebook chat sidebar for smaller screens.
