Chinese smartphone company Coolpad has finally made its entry in Indian market with two smartphones: Dazen X7 and Dazen 1. At the time when most of the Chinese brands are entering in India, Coolpad did not want to lose the chance. Dazen 1 is the entry level 4G smartphone with powerful hardware specifications. We got the device for few hours and see what was the first impression of the device on us.
CoolPad Dazen 1 First Impression
Design
Design of the smartphone was not so impressive. It has plastic body. It has a 5 inch of HD display with good viewing experience. At the right side, it has a power button, at the left side it has volume rocker keys, at the bottom it has micro USB port for charging and data cable connection and at the top side, it has 3.5 mm jack. Device also features physical home button along with 2 touch buttons at both side of the home button.
Processor RAM and Storage
This device is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306. It has 2 GB of RAM. So, the performance of the device is good. While using the device for multiple task, I didn’t feel the lag.
It comes with 8 GB internal storage from which around 4 GB is available for users. You can expand storage by adding a microSD card slot. Internal storage is expandable up 32 GB.
User Interface
It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with CoolUI 6.0 at the top. I must say that UI is impressive. It has no app drawers like other Chinese UIs and apps are scattered in different home screens. Icons use flat designs. It also offers millions of free wallpapers with a tap needed to get a new wallpaper. It also has a hidden sidebar for apps to improve multitasking. Overall experience with the UI was pleasant.
Camera
It has a 8 megapixel rear camera with flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. Both cameras offer good quality photos. It also offer Pro features and beautify mode for improved photography experience. You will enjoy the camera app. At this price, no other companies offer manual control on white balance and other things.
Connectivity
This a dual sim phone which supports 3G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. It also supports both Indian 4G bands.
Battery
It is packed with 2500 mAh battery with Coolpad’s patented technology to extend battery up to 50%. Battery is removable.
At this price, it is offering better hardware specifications that its competitors are offering. It will compete with Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000 plus.
