At a press event in China, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun announced the company’s affordable device Redmi 2A. This is the cheaper variant of Redmi 2 smartphone launched few months back. It has been priced at CNY 599 and will be available at a special price of CNY 499 on April 8 in China

Xiaomi Redmi 2A features a 4.7 inch IPS display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core LCT L18606 processor with Mali T628 dual core GPU. It is packed with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage and microSD card slot to expand storage up to 32 GB. It features a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front camera. It offers 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is packed with 2200 mAh battery
