Samsung has finally announced its next flagship devices Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge at MWC 2015. After seeing the success of Galaxy Note Edge, company started pushing edged devices in the market. This is why it also announced Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S6 is the successor of Galaxy S5 but it comes with major redesign. Design of the smartphone seems to be inspired from Apple’s iPhone.
Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.1 inch QHD Super AMOLED display which offers vibrant colors and great viewing angles. It has Gorilla Glass 4 protection on both the front and the rear of the device. It is powered by a 14nm 64-bit Eynos 7420 chipset with quad-core 2.1GHz and quad-core 1.5GHz CPU. It is powered by a 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It comes in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage models. It also offers 115 GB free OneDrive storage for 2 years. Samsung Galaxy S6 runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with a layer of TouchWiz UX.
It has a ISOCELL 16 megapixel f/1.9 primary camera which can also record 4K videos. It also has 5 megapixel f/1.9 front camera for video calls and high-quality selfie. If we talk about camera features, it includes optical image stabilization, Auto HDR and IR white balance detection.
Connectivity features of the smartphone are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, IR Remote, USB 2.0 and Cat.6 LTE. It also supports NFC and MST mobile payments. It is packed with 2550 mAH battery. It also supports WPC and PMA wireless charging standards. Back panel of the device is also non-removable.
It is just about 6.8mm thick and weighs only 138 grams.
It we talk about Galaxy S6 Edge, it features curve display at the both side of the display. It offers similar features as in Galaxy S6 but with curved display. With curved at both side, it looks like totally different device in the hands. It also has a 5.1 inch QHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection at front and back both. It is powered by new 64-bit Exynos octa-core chipset based on the 14nm architecture. It is packed with 3 GB RAM.
It comes in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage models. It also comes with 115 GB free OneDrive storage for 2 years. It features a 16 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI. It is packed with 2600 mAh battery. It comes in white pearl, black sapphire, gold platinum and green emerald color options.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge will be launched on April 10 in 20 selected markets.
