Lenovo announces camera-centric smartphone Vibe Shot at MWC 2015

Today at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Lenovo announced a new camera-centric smartphone Lenovo Vibe Shot. This smartphone aims to narrow the gap between smartphones and good camera. It is a smartphone and comes with several features which are only available in cameras.

Lenovo Vibe Shot features a 5 inch Full HD 1080p IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. It has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and microSD card slot to expand storage up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Vibe UI at top. It features aluminium frame body around the body.

It has a 16 megapixel rear camera with tri-color flash, six-piece lens, Optical Image Stabilisation and a Backside Illuminated sensor. It comes with Laser autofocus to quickly focus on objets and the tricolor flash automatically adjusts the luminosity of the images based on the ambient light. It also features a dedicated hardware shutter button. It also features various pro-shooting modes. It also has a 8 megapixel front camera.

It comes with 4G LTE Cat 4 support. Other connectivity features are 3G, W-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and micoUSB. It is priced at $349 (before taxes and subsidies). It will be available globally in June later this year.
