Reports confirm that YouTube is all set to launch a kid friendly app “YouTube Kids” and it will be launched on February 23. This app will only be available for Android devices at the time of launch and will be available for free.

According to USA Today, this app will be different from the YouTube app and will only show content made for kids. At homescreen, it will have eight options made up of choices from kids TV shows and other popular recommendations for kids. Above these, five simple icons, a TV set for programs, a radio for video of popular songs;,a light bulb for educational videos, and binoculars to explore a range of top videos.

Kids can search either by typing or by using voice search. Voice search is also included because young kids cannot type properly. This app will not show any search results for in inappropriate terms like ‘sex’. Searching for these terms will show pop up saying “Try something else” message.
