This Wi-Fi connected ‘smart Barbie’ can chat with kids

Now kids’ barbie doll has become smarter as ‘Smart barbie.’ This smart Brabie will be called ‘Hello Barbie’ Smart barbie can connect to Wi-fi and can have a two way communication with kids. It can reply yo kids, tell them stories and jokes.

Toy maker company Mattel has partnered with US start-up ToyTalk to develop this “Hello Barbie” smart doll. Doll will use the speech recognition program developed by ToyTalk. This doll will tell stories to kids and will pay games with them.

“The number one request we hear from girls around the world is that they want to have a conversation with Barbie. Now, for the first time ever, Barbie can have a two-way conversation,” said a spokeswoman for Mattel.

To work properly, this doll requires a proper Wi-Fi connection. Once it is full charged, it works fine for an hour. It has rechargeable batteries in the legs which can be connected in wall charger. It also has a microphone, speaker and two LEDs embedded in the doll’s necklace. Hello Barbie also comes with a hold-to-talk button on the belt buckle. This button is to make sure that doll is responding only to the child’s commands.

With the interactions, it also stores the interactions and creates a database of the child’s likes and dislikes.

It also offers many control option for parents. Parents can select topics which they do not want their kids to discuss with the doll.
