Microsoft has launched a new free app Picturesque for Android devices. This app offers useful functions and shortcuts to your device’s lock screen.

Picturesque aims to make your lockscreen equally useful as your device’s home screen. Lock screen feature multiple screen offering bing search, news feeds, weather reports, notifications, frequently used apps and settings shortcuts. If you like Bing daily homepage, you will surely like it. Because it also brings daily Bing homepage image as a background. You can also swipe and use past week images.

You can also access your phone’s camera, change network settings, volume and brightness settings. YOu can also use your phone as torch from the lockscreen.

Lot more things you can do direct from the lock screen. I wonder whether we need all these functions on the lockscreen. I hope Microsoft will get few users who like this.

This app is now available in Play Store.
