Today, Microsoft sent an email to outlook.com users confirming that it will be discontinuing Facebook Chat and Google Chat support from outlook.com.

Now only Skype chat will be available in outlook.com. Microsoft confirmed the reason behind removing Google Chat. It blames Google for this because Google is shutting down the Gtalk service and its protocol. But company didn’t confirm why it is also removing Facebook chat.

Facebook and Gtalk integration was an extra advantage in outlook.com. People used to open outlook.com in offices to use Google and Facebook chat. It is disappointing for Microsoft that it wouldn’t be able to continue these. Both Google and Facebook chat services will disappear from Outlook.com in the coming days.
