Google has acquired mobile backup service Odysee for an undisclosed amount. This is a kind of acquihire and Odysee team will join Google+ team to work with Google+ Photos.

Odysee’s backup service allowed users to back up photos and videos taken from smartphone or tablet camera at full quality on their device and sync them across various devices and share with friends and followers.

Odysee’s iOS and Android apps have now been pulled from app stores. But company will continue offering service till Feb 23. Users have also been given an option to download the archive of their data.

“We are excited to share that the Odysee Platform Team will be joining the Google+ Team,” Odyess team posted on home page. “Odysee’s vision was to be the easiest way for everyone to capture unlimited memories and access them everywhere. We are very excited to join Google where we’ll continue to focus on building amazing products that people love.”
