LG G Flex 2 with Curved Display, Snapdragon 810 Announced

LG just unveiled the successor of LG G Flex smartphone dubbed as LG G Flex 2 at CES 2015. It is the second curved smartphone from the company with various improvements from its previous model. Pricing details of the smartphone was not revealed. It will be available by the end of January in Korea.

LG G Flex 2 is smaller than G Flex with 5 inc 1080p P-OLED display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 700mm-radius curvature. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 has been toughened approximately 20 percent more with LG’s own special chemical treatment technology called Dura-Guard glass. This makes the smartphone 30 percent more durable than the original. It has more scratch resistant back cover and front panel than LG G flex launched last year. Company has also improved the self-healing technology. It will now get healed within 10 seconds at room temperature which is much faster than its previous model.

This smartphone will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop. It also offers 3 gesture controls – Gesture shot, Gesture View and Glance View.  It will come with 2 GB or 3GB RAM depending on region. It will come with 16 GB/32 GB internal storage. It is powered by an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor. It has 13 megapixels rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), dual-LED flash, and laser-guided autofocus and a 2.1 megapixels front camera.

Connectivity features of the smartphone are HSPA+, 4 G LTE Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X) 4.1, NFC, SlimPort, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and USB 2.0. It is packed with 3000mAh battery.  Battery supports fast charging which charges battery to 50% in 40 minutes.

LG G Flex 2 has 9.44mm thick body and measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1.
