Facebook is now targeting users with entry level Android devices. For this users, company has launched a new Facebook app Facebook Lite. This new app is the low end version of Facebook app. This app is just 262 KB in size and it should work in devices with low processing power and low data connection.

Facebook Lite

This app is faster and designed to consume less bandwidth. If you are using low speed 2G connection, it will work fine. App comes with basic design and functionality, but you can access your wall, pages, groups, messenger and more. There is also a notification support.

Smartphone sales are growing fast in Asian market. But these market lacks good internet speed. People also prefer low end smartphones. But Facebook app is heavy and does not offer good user experience in low end devices. So, launching this ‘Lite’ version of app clearly makes sense.

Users have already started downloading the app and initial reviews are fine. If you also own entry level smartphone, I recommend using this Facebook app.

This app is now available in Play Store.
