New Delhi Railway Station Gets Free Wi-Fi Service

Free Wi-Fi Zone DelhiStarting today, Passengers at New Delhi Railway Station will be able to access free WI-FI internet within station premises. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will launch this project implemented by railTel.

Passengers at all 16 platforms will be able to access this free Wi-Fi internet. Users will be able to access free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes and will require to register through mobile numbers at the station. If you want to access more, you can purchase scratch cards which will be available at 24×7 Wi-Fi helpdesks at New Delhi railway station.

Rs. 25 card will give you 30 minutes access and Rs. 35 card will allow you to enjoy 1 more hours. These cards are valid for 24 hours.

Total cost of the project is Rs. 50 Lakh and annual maintenance cost if Rs. 16 lakh. Similar kind of service will be provided at 75 major stations across the country within one year.

Bangalore Railways station already provides free Wi-Fi launched back in October. Delhi too have two free wi-fi hotspots at Khan market and Connaught Place.
