Asus has just announced its smartphone called Asus ZenWatch at IFA 2014 in Berlin. Asus Zenwatch is based on Google’s ‘Android Wear’ platform. This was not an surprising move because Asus already announced its plans for smartwatch earlier this year and teased Zenwatch few days back.
If we talk about the build quality, it is made of steel, so it looks high quality. It has 1.63-inch curved 320×320 AMOLED display withCorning Gorilla Glass 3 along with quick-release clasp.It comes with 100+ combination watch face choices. So, you will surely get one that suits your mood and personality. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 512 MB RAM. It has 4 GB internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0 and bio sensor to measure heart rate. It is waterproof and comes with IP55 rating. Specifications are similar to LG G Watch and Moto 360.
You can also use Asus Zenwatch to unlock your phone. If you misplaced your smartphone, you can use Tap Tap and Find My Phone feature to locate your device. It also offers ASUS Remote Camera features to let users take photos from various creative angles which are difficult to capture manually.
Asus also released a Asus Welness app which lets users monitor and track various health related statistics captured by the smartwatch. You can check calories burned, activity duration, heart rate, exercise intensity and relaxation level.
It will hit the market in Q3 or Q4 this year and will be priced at €199.
