In a shocking move, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will discontinue its very popular smartphone Xiaomi Mi3 in India for indefinite time. Company wants to focus on its recently launched budget phone Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S
“Over next few weeks, we will focus on Redmi 1S, and Mi 3 wont be available. We will take the final call after few weeks, once we have more visibility / data points,” Manu Jain, the country head of Xiaomi India confirmed in a statement.

Yesterday, Hugo Barra, their global VP confirmed that Xiaomi has sold over 95,000 units of Mi3 in India. Although this is not a big number but company managed to create buzz in Indian market by selling the thousands of phones within seconds.
Thousands of people are still waiting for mi 3 to come again for sale. So this news will be a big disappointment for them.
Focus on Redmi 1S seems good move. Because the smartphone offers so many features for just Rs. 5,999. It has potential to compete with Moto G and all other smartphones available under Rs. 10000. It will go on sale on September 2. And for this sale, registration has already been closed by Flipkart.
