Linkedin’s document sharing platform Slideshare is now completely free for all users. Soon, all pro plans will be available to all users for free of cost. These pro features include analytics, profile customization and private uploads.

Premium features on Slideshare were introduced in 2010 before the company was acquired by LinkedIn. Now Slideshare has already stopped the pro signup. If you try to signup for the pro tiers, you will see this message:

Now Slideshare will be rolling out these pro features to all users one by one every month starting in September. Users who already have subscribed the pro features will continue to have access to all premium features. But they will no longer be charged.

LinkedIn has not confirmed the reason behind dropping the pro plans. “Less revenue from Pro subscription” may be the possible reason. This is why company decided to open the pro subscriptions to all.

There are no changes in the advertising model of the SlideShare. And after dropping pro subscription, company will focus on making it better to increase the revenue.
