Ratan Tata Invests in Snapdeal

Ratan Tata, former chairman of Tata Sons Ltd, has made personal investment in India’s popular online retailer Snapdeal.com. Funding amount was not disclosed.

Snapdeal is one of the biggest online retailer of the country with over 5 million products and over 50,000 sellers. It past 2 years, It has seen 600% year on year growth.

Ratan Tata invests in Snapdeal

So far, snapdeal has raised $350 million funding from BlackRock, Temasek, ebay, Premji invest, Intel Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners.

Snapdeal has also confirmed the partnership with Tata Housing. Under this partnership, it will sell Tata Value Homes on Snapdeal. Customers will be able to book an apartment by paying Rs. 30,000 each starting 28 august.
