Swipe Konnect 5.0 Review

Swipe Konnect 5.0 Review

After the launch of Moto G and Moto E, Indian market has seen various powerful smartphones at affordable price. Swipe Konnect 5.0 is one of those affordable but powerful smartphone. It was launched last month for Rs. 8,999 only. It comes with qHD display, quad core processor, 1 GB RAM ad various other features.  This handset supports dual SIM (3G + 2G).

Inside the box:

  • Handset
  • Flip cover
  • Earphone
  • Warranty card
  • User manual
  • Travel charger
  • Data cable
  • 1950mAh battery.

Design and display

It is a big screen smartphone with dimensions (mm): 148.00 x 74.00 x 8.90. Build quality is not so impressive. Swipe has used plastic body everywhere except edges. It has nothing in design which can impress consumers. Speakers are at back side and when you put the phone at flat surface, speakers will be blocked and but volume is still fine. It weighs only 135 grams which makes lightest 5 inch phablet in market.

It has a 6 inch IPS qHD display with 540×960 pixels resolution. Display does good job with good viewing angles. But screen is prone to scratches. So, use of screen-guard is must. Touch is smooth and responsive. It has touch buttons at the bottom and two sensors at the top along with a front camera.

OS, Memory and Storage

It comes with Android 4.2.2. Swipe has not customize the OS with unnecessary UI, so you will feel almost stock OS. There are also bunch of pre-loaded apps. Swipe has also confirmed Kitkat update for the smartphone. It comes with 1 GB DDR3 RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Around 4.52GB internal storage is available for users. It also comes with microSD card slot to expand storage.

Processor and Performance

It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8255 which performs well. Temple Run and other games were running smoothly. For normal gaming, it performs well. We rarely experienced lags. But heavy graphics intesive games put some stress.

Camera

It comes with 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. At front, it has a 3.2 megapixel camera. Primary camera clicks decent shots under good light. But under low light, images are not quite good and night mode also does not help. Camera app has some good features like aut click when smile is detected, panorama and multi-angle view. Video recorded by the camera was also good. I have attached the sample video and images at the end of the post.

Front camera also works fine. You can use it to take selfie and video calls.

Connectivity

It is dual SIM phone. There is 1 normal sim slot and 1 micro SIM slot. 1 slot support only 2G and other supports 3G. Sound is loud and good. Earphones are ordinary so you can not expect much.

Other connectivity features are Wi-FI, GPS and Bluetooth.

Battery

It is packed with 1950 mAh polymer Ion battery which does not perform as per expectation. But performance depends on the usage. On normal usage, you have to full charge it daily. If you play games and connect it with internet, it will not last more than 12 hours.
