Microsoft Brings Universal Windows Apps to Work across all Windows Platforms

At its Build 2014 conference today, Microsoft has announce universal Windows apps. These apps will work across PCs, Smartphones, tablets and Xbox One.

This will allow developers to write code for one app which will work on all these platform based on Windows. Company will also give developers ap option to make design specific to each type of device. Visual Studio also has an diagnostic tools that lets you check and fix problems easily.

David Treadwell, Microsoft CVP of Operating Systems Group, also confirms that developers can now sell apps across multiple platforms. Users can also buy app for single platform and use in any platform (PC or smartphone). Similar thing will also apply on in-app purchase. If you buy something on phone, it will also be available on your PC too.

Apps that will work on all platforms will be denoted by a universal badge. Developers can still develop app dedicated for a single platform. Universal app idea is optional.
