Today, WhatsApp for Android has received a new update. This new update brings new privacy settings and an option to pat for a friend’s WhatsApp subscription.

New updated WhatsApp for Android lets you hide “last seen” status and profie photos. It has also added a camera shortcut for quick picture sending. In chat, now it displays large video thumbnails. If you are using Android 3.0 or higher, you can also add a widget to show unread messages on homescreen.

Most notable feature added via this update is that a user can pay for the Whatsapp subscriptions of friends. WhatsApp comes for free for first 12 months. After that, it asks users to pay $0.99 per year to continue the subscription.

WhatsApp has also fixed older known bugs in this update.
