At Mobile World Congress, Startup Bionym showcased its new wristband Nymi. It takes your pulse as password to authenticate wide range of devices including home security, cars and other devices. It will make things lot easier and you do not need to remember many passwords. You just need to use Nymi to authenticate.
Unlike other biometric authentication, user does not need to authenticate every time they want to unlock something. You will be authenticated as long as the wearer keeps the wristband on.
Working of the band is simple. When you clasp the Nymi band around your wrist and place finger on the top sender, you will feel a vibration and see the LEDs illuminate. Bottom sensor will record your pulse and then authenticate you. You will stay authenticated until Nymi is taken off.
It functions on 3 factor security systems. To authenticate yourself, you must have Nymi, your heartbeats and a Authorized Authentication Device (AAD). Authorized Authentication Device can be your smartphone or any other gadget registered with the Nymi app. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 and proximity sensing technology to connect with your device.
Passwords can be cracked but no one can replicate your pulse. This single wearable device solve many problems.
