Micromax Announced Operations in Russia, Plans to Launch 14 Smartphones This year

After having good start in Indian smartphone market, Micromax has announced to go Russia. For Russian operation, company has partnered with VVP Group a distributor known for introducing new brands. With this partnership, Micromax is planning to launch its Canvas and Bolt series smartphone in Russian market.
Micromax has also launched Micromax Canvas Beat, Canvas Social and three smartphones of Bolt series for the Russian market. These smartphones are now listed in Micromax’s Russian website. Micromax has planned to launch up to 14 smartphones by the end of this year. Company will also spent in setting up infrastructure that includes more than 60 service centers in Russia.
“At Micromax, our emphasis has always been to democratize technology for masses around the world through an innovative product portfolio. As we look to take Micromax to key international markets, we are excited to announce our foray into the Russian mobile handset market which has immense potential not only for smartphones and features phones, but also for innovative tablets and data products. Our initial focus in the Russian market is to replicate the success witnessed in our other markets in the last couple of years. We have carved the vision for ourselves to be the 1st Indian hardware brand to be global and set our footprint with Russia as the first developed market to venture into,” Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder, Micromax said about Micromax’s Russia Operations.
Micromax has also partnered with other Russian giants (including Odnoklassniki and IVI.ru) for providing Russian specific content and other value added services to Russian users.
Last year, Micromax has also names Hollywood star Hugh Jackman as its new brand ambassador to get global exposure. Now, company is planning to hit other markets after getting good response in India. Company has given good competition to Smartphone giant Samsung in India and expecting the same growth rate this year. Micromax also claims that it is the eleventh biggest mobile phone brand in world and working hard to be in top 10 with its global expansion.
