It seems Facebook is testing something new for web. We are not sure what exactly it is and what is the use of it for users. But it displays network related information. Facebook has added a globe button near chat boxes to display “Network Routing and Load Balancing Information.” This new button is dubbed as “Traffic Information”. When you click on the button, it display the network information in a chat like box.

Facebook traffic information box

This box display some technical information about the network connection from your system to server. Only a technical person having knowledge about networks and computers can understand it. Most of the person using social network cannot understand a single part of the information displaying in the box.

This button was there only for few minutes and now it is not there. It seems strange because showing this information to Facebook user does not make sense. May be this was just a Facebook specific testing to see some information. But it was spotted by a normal Facebook user. We are not sure about this. We are trying to contact Facebook to know what this button is. And also to know why this is going to be live (In case) on Facebook.

If you have also seen this on your Facebook, share it with us via comments.
