Google recommends places based on users reviews on Google Maps. If you are in a new city, you can find hotels, restaurants and other places with this new feature.

For using this feature, tap on the search box. It will show recent search history and a new option ‘Explorer nearby’ below search history. In this section, you can select desired category. Google will display places along with ratings and reviews.
