Finally, Motorola Mobility has announced its Moto X smartphone at a press event. This is the first smartphone manufactured under Google’s ownership. We were expecting the high end devices, but Google played a mind game by launching mid-range device.
Moto X will be available in late August in United states.
Moto X runs on Motorola’s custom designed X8 mobile platform integrated with a powerful dual core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and Adreno 320 GPU with 4 cores. Processor is dedicated to Natural Language Processing and Contextual Computing. These two are designed by Motorola. Natural Language processor is designed for audio, noise estimation and noise cancellation. Contextual computing processor added to work with sensors, display and touch.
It features a 4.7 inch 720p display. It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. It also has 10 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel front camera. Connectivity features of Moto X are Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS and GLONASS.
It runs on stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but company has added many additional features. It looks similar to Nexus device.
It is packed with 2,200 mAh battery that can run up to 24 hours on single charge.
Moto X is also giving g US consumers (only on AT&T) opportunity to personalize their smartphone before buying. Moto X comes in 18 different coloured back panels and two front panels.

Through our online studio, Moto Maker, you choose the colors, and decide on the details: front, back, accents, memory, wallpapers, even add a name or a short message. When you’re done, we assemble your Moto X right here in the USA and ship it to you for free in 4 days or less*,” Motorola noted in a blog post.
Moto X will be sold for $199 with 2 years contract on all major US carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon. AT&T will get exclusive 32 GB variant in many unique colors. 32 GB variant is priced at $249.99 with the two-year contract.
