Flipkart has added new voice search feature to its existing search bar. This new feature will let users search items on Flipkart via voice based commands. This search works similar to Google voice search. NextBigWhat was first to report this new feature.

This new feature is currently in A/B testing phase. SO, it is not available to all users. Currently the feature is available only on desktop version of Flipkart. Mobile users will have to wait for few more days. This feature is really helpful in searching those products whose spelling you are not aware of.

With growing use of smartphones and tablets, voice search is becoming popular day by day. After implementing this feature to mobile apps, it will reduce the effort of typing the name of products. Good thing about this feature is that it can understand Indian accent.

This is not the first time when an online retailer has implemented the voice search feature. Homesho18 had a similar kind of voice search plugin few months back.

Recently, Flipkart has updated its Flipkart eBooks apps. And now Flipkart eBooks app is also available for iOS and Android platforms.
