Yahoo Hack India

Due to overwhelming response from developers across India, Yahoo has decided to move the event outside from Bangalore to cover more cities in India. After hosting the event in Hyderabad, Yahoo will also host the same event in Bangalore later this year.

Yahoo! Hack India brings programmers, developers, start ups and students from different universities in India at one place. More than 1000 developers from 20 states have signed up to participate in the event. After first round of coding challenge, 250 people will be selected for the next round of challenges.

“I am very excited to see the fresh ideas these young developers will come up with. This year we expect hackers to build experiences with a mobile-first approach, focusing on high-impact apps and dynamic mobile web experiences that people are excited to use every day,” said Hari Vasudev, VP & Head, Yahoo! India R&D. He added, “Hyderabad has world class tech talent with an extremely engaged developer community. This is our first hack event in Hyderabad, and we expect this one will also represent the same passion, energy and spirit of our previous hack events across the world.”

Yahoo will also introduce developers with its popular web technologies and tools. Yahoo! will also partner with other companies to give them opportunity to use its web APIs in their projects.

First Yahoo Hack in India was hosted in 2007 and it was attended by 180 developers. It seems that Yahoo Hack has got enough popularity over the years.
