Popular mobile game maker Rovio has announced the newer version of its Angry Birds Star Wars in partnership with Lucasfilm. Angry Birds Star Wars II will be launched globally on September 19.
The new game follows the story of the three pre-quel Star Wars movie. It will give users some new ways to interact with the game. This new game also includes 30 new character including young Anakin, Mace Windu, General Grievous, Darth Maul, Jar Jar Binks and many more. First time in the Angry Birds game’s history, players will be able to choose to “Join the Pork Side” and play as one of the villainous pigs. It means users will have a chance to play as bad pig and fight with birds.
The launch of the game will come alongside new interactive toys from Hasbro. These toys are also known as “Telepods.” Players can easily bring these toys in the game by scanning with phone or tablet’s camera.
“Angry Birds Star Wars was a blockbuster hit for us and Lucasfilm with over 100 million downloads since its release. We are thrilled to be able to introduce the exciting next chapter in the Angry Birds Star Wars saga to our fans around the world,” said Jami Laes, Executive Vice President of Games at Rovio Entertainment.
“Some of the most amazing character additions are versions of young Anakin, Mace Windu and Darth Maul. Hasbro’s TELEPODS technology also provides a great way to extend the experience beyond the app and bring a whole new dimension to the gameplay,” he added.
