Sony Mobile has confirmed that its selected Xperia smartphones will soon get recently announced Android 4.3 update. Company has also confirmed that its high end tablet Xperia Z will also receive Android 4.3 update.
These are the smartphones that will receive Android 4.3 update
- Xperia Z
- Xperia ZL
- Xperia ZR
- Xperia Z Ultra
- Xperia SP
- Xperia Tablet Z
These are not the only devices that will get Android 4.3 update. Sony will soon add more devices in the list. Sony is planning to few more Android devices running on Android 4.1 to directly Android 4.3 skipping Android 4.2. Sony said that they will reveal the list of devices soon. As we see that there are not much big changes in Android 4.3 from Android 4.2, it will be a wise decision to skip Android 4.2 update for devices running on Android 4.1.
Company started rolling out Android 4.1 update for selected Xperia devices back in February this year. Company has also started Android 4.2.2 update for Xperia Z and Zperia ZL last month.
Sony has yet to announce the time-frame for the roll out the update. This roll out might also vary across different countries.
