Today at WWDC 2013, Apple has announced the browser based version of iWork. Apple has demonstrated it through a Safari browser running on Mac.
It offers Microsoft 365 web features with the speed of Google Docs. With this web based iWork, users will be able to edit and save their documents. It will also work with Microsoft Office documents. You can open and edit Word document in your browser similar to office 365. It also supports drag and drop file. Just drop a file on browser with iWork open and it will open the file.
iWork for iCloud supports Safari, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. During the Keynote, Apple’s representative also demonstrated a document editing on Windows 8 by using Chrome browser.
iWork for iCloud is now available for developers as a beta. Public version of iWork for iCloud will come later this year.
