Popular security giant McAfee has announced that it is buying a Finland security firm Stonesoft Oyj. Stonesoft is known for its Firewall solutions. The deal is worth $389 million. The acceptance period for the offer is scheduled to start on May 21 and run for three weeks.
McAfee will add the Stonesoft’s firewall to all its existing security products to make them better. Terms of that deal were not disclosed. In past few months, McAfee has acquired few small security products company to improve the McAfee security products. This purchase will also help company to fight with other rivals in the field of Network security and Firewall.
“With the pending addition of Stonesoft’s products and services, McAfee is making a significant investment in next-generation firewall technology,” said McAfee president Michael DeCesare. “Stonesoft is a leading innovator in this important market segment. We plan to integrate Stonesoft’s offerings with other McAfee products to realize the power of McAfee’s Security Connected strategy.”
Stonesoft is a popular Firewall solution company with more than 6,500 customers worldwide.
