A team of Researchers in Sweden have developed a new technology to charge your mobile phone with water. If your phone is running out of battery, you only need to find a water source to charge your phone. This technology is really helpful for those who work outdoor away from electricity. The device is developed by Sweden’s KTH Royal Institute of Technology and made by MyFC.

This is the world’s first water activated charging technology that can extend battery life up to 3 watts. There is no need for any kind of special water. It can work with any kind of water. This charging device is called PowerTrekk charger. To charge your mobile phone, you only need to full up the compartment with one tablespoon water and then close the lid. Connect the device with USB cable. It will start charging your phone automatically as the water inside the device will interact with disposable metal discs. It released hydrogen that combines with oxygen to produce electrical energy.

If we compare it with other uncommon charging technology like Solar charging, Solar Charging affected by the weather. But this technology is unaffected by anything. If you have a spoonful water, you can charge your phone without any problem.

Currently, Powertrekk charging device works with cellphones and smartphones, digital cameras, iPods and GPS. Company is looking to develop it to charge laptop and other bigger devices.
