Government of India has announced an Android app development contest in India. In this contest, all participants will have to develop Android app in six different categories and make all government services available via mobile phones. App developers can submit their apps before March 31, 2013 and can win up to 1 LAKH rs.
“we are inviting individual developer to develop innovative mobile application on Android platform that can be used by citizen to avail public services,” Offer page reads.
This contest is open only to Indian developers and they can submit apps in the following categories:
- Government Services
- Education/ Reference
- Social Networking
- Lifestyle/ Travel
- E-Health
- Productivity/Tools
All apps will be reviewed by jury and winner will be announced on April 10. Winner of the contest will win cash prize of INR 1 Lakh and runner up will get Rs. 50,000. Developer at the third spot will win Rs. 25,000.
Selected apps will be the part of government’s Mobile Service Delivery Gateway,also known as Mobile Seva.
“Applications submitted will be evaluated by a jury process and the top 3 applications awarded during a National Workshop/Conference during April 2013. All qualified application will also be hosted on our Mobile Seva Application Store.”
