Sony Announces the PlayStation 4

Sony claims that PlayStation 4 features eight-core processor and it is the part of a new digital ecosystem that’s “the fastest, most powerful gaming network.” PlayStation 4 comes with cloud gaming service. For this technology, Sony has bought US cloud-based gaming company Gaikai for $380 million in July

Sony has also revamped the user interface on the new console that keeps tabs on user preferences and added social networking features.

It is very long time since Sony has launched its last version of PlayStation. PlayStation 3 went on sale in the US on Nov 17,2006.

“The living room is no longer the center of the PlayStation universe, the gamer is,” Andrew House, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment said at the event. “We believe that PlayStation 4 represents a shift from thinking of a box or console.”
