Google is getting ready for the ninth version of Google Summer of Code and trying to make it biggest Summer of Code Event ever. For this, it has also started taking proposals from both universities for students and groups for projects to work.

Google Summer of Code 2013 Announced

If you are interested in joining the program either as a student to work on projects or as a company, you have 1 month to be prepared and register. Proposals for projects will begin on 18 and students will be able to apply in April and May.

“Google Summer of Code is a global program that offers students stipends to write code for open source projects. We have worked with the open source community to identify and fund exciting projects for the upcoming summer,” Google Summer of Code website reads.

This program helps opensource communities and students both. Students get chance to be a part of big open source projects. Opensource projects also get some contribution from university talents.
